Nudibranch
One of my favourite things to see are nudibranchs. While diving around Mabul Island and Kapalai Island, it is almost guaranteed that you will see these little creatures. But what is interesting is that you will almost always see a different species everytime you come across one in each of your dives.
The word nudibranch literally means “naked gill” because you can see their delicate gills waving to the current, exposed directly to the elements. They look very much like snails without shells. Nudibranchs are hermaphrodites, meaning they have both male and female reproductive organs.
There are over 3,000 known species around the world and I’ve met divers who spend alot of time underwater just going around photographing these sea slugs.

This picture shows a nudibranch of the Chromodoris coi species.
